NORTH AMERICAN TOUR OF “KAIFI AUR MAIN” STARRING SHABANA AZMI AND JAVED AKHTAR TO BEGIN NOV. 4

Internationally acclaimed Indian actress Shabana Azmi and her husband, noted poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, will bring a very personal story to theatre audiences across the United States and Canada in November and December 2006. This famous duo will be starring in “Kaifi Aur Main,” a theatrical presentation celebrating the life and artistry of progressive Urdu poet and film lyricist Kaifi Azmi, Shabana Azmi’s father, as seen through the eyes of his wife. The show will travel to Newark, N.J.; Philadelphia; Boston; Toronto; Detroit; Chicago; Houston; San Francisco; Phoenix; Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; and New York City.

LEGENDARY INDIAN ACTORS SHABANA AZMI AND JAVED AKHTAR TO STAR IN NOV. 17 CHICAGO-AREA PERFORMANCE OF “KAIFI AUR MAIN”

Internationally acclaimed Indian actress Shabana Azmi and her husband, noted poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, will travel to Chicago to star in the theatre production “Kaifi Aur Main.” This theatrical presentation celebrates the life and artistry of progressive Urdu poet and film lyricist Kaifi Azmi, Shabana Azmi’s father, as seen through the eyes of his wife. The Chicago-area performance of “Kaifi Aur Main” will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at 8 p.m. at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie.
